Dill

Dill is a fast-growing plant that thrives in cool climates. In Turkey, it grows particularly well in the Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean regions, as the mild climatic conditions in these regions are favorable for the healthy growth of dill.

Dill cultivation starts by sowing the seeds directly into the soil. The soil should be loose, rich in organic matter and well drained. Dill requires regular watering and sufficient sunlight, but does not like excessive waterlogging. Also, because dill grows quickly, it needs to be harvested frequently.

When it is time to harvest, dill is picked with its fresh and vibrant leaves. Yields vary depending on soil conditions, irrigation methods and climatic conditions. Fresh dill is a delicious aromatic herb, especially in salads, yogurt appetizers and fish.
